Reflection & Impression: Applying Gold Leaf to Paper

By experimenting with gilding on a variety of papers using patent gold leaf with diluted PVA and a wide choice of tools, and by impressing thin materials into gilded papers by hand and with a press, you will accomplish an array of dramatic effects and learn exciting new ways to transform your art, calligraphy, and book work.

Suzanne Moore is a lettering artist and designer who combines contemporary vision with traditional scribal techniques. She combines painting, printmaking, and drawing to create contemporary manuscript books and limited editions. Suzanne lives and works on Vashon Island with her husband Don Glaister.

Course fee: CBBAG members $425; non-members $485 (includes one-year membership); materials fee approximately $50 for gold.

Location: Joan and Ginny’s Studio, North Saanich
