- CBBAG BC Islands is a chapter of the national organization, Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild (CBBAG). We hold four meetings a year at the University of Victoria and organize at least one field trip.
- Our chapter includes more than 40 CBBAG members who live on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. We are working bookbinders and book conservators, book arts instructors, printmakers, calligraphers, bibliophiles, researchers, and more.
- We receive partial funding from CBBAG national which allows us to bring out-of-province instructors and mount public displays. BC Islands chapter is offering the foundational CBBAG Bookbinding courses (Bookbinding I, II, III) here on Vancouver Island. Historically, these courses were only available out of province. We also organize 1, 2 and 3-day workshops on a wide range of topics: paper making, marbling, box making, historical book structures, and more. (See Workshop page .)
